+1 - or find some resolution.
There were a whole lot of early 6 speeds sold (06 - 08) and I'm pretty sure the higher the mileage gets with them the more prevelant the problem will get across the board. Not everyone has a brand new or newer bike on this forum.

At 40K, my main had gone and the debris took out the rest. Had about .013" runout on the sproket. Auto chain tensioner isn't very smart - all it knows to do is tighten every chance it gets. If you have some runout, the tension will vary, the adjuster will tighten as it rolls into a loose spot, then will be too tight for the other part of the rotation. Will wear the bearing, causing the chain to loosen up a little, the adjuster will tighten up again, and repeat until trashed. No (or very little) runout, and the adjuster probably won't cause a problem. If this is the cause, that would explain why different fluids haven't changed it, and why it's not affecting everyone. Baker has come out with a manual chain tension adjustor for these primaries. Mine is currently being rebuilt (with a few motor upgrades).

On my LAST EG I started with Amsoil SVO 75-90 then went to 75-140
At 30,000 I had a bad humming coming from the tranny.
I was within 2 months of being out of the warranty.
Had all the bearing in the tranny replaced by the dealer.
I later traded the bike in
I went back to SE synthetic oil.
And I got a 5 yrs warranty

Well if you ain't got one, gonna be kinda hard to read it.
Think I got to drive between 33 to 50 miles to even try to find one.

Could you elaborate a little more.

The article is long and detailed, but essentially what the author (Motohead) is saying is that using the wrong oil will destroy the plastic retainer, and wipe out the bearing. He is doing a follow up article next month. Perhaps you can have a copy mailed to you?

Which issue am I suppost to be lookin for.
I've been on the Thunder-Press web site trying to dig around and find it but haven't.
I would have to call a HD dealer and ride 50 miles to see if they even had a copy.

Just called my HD dealer and they haven't got this months copy of the TP yet.
