Got mine in today and put it on. It put me WAY lower. I was able to flat foot pretty well with just tennis shoes on. I went and put on my boots, and I am definitely in a much better place. No more worries about backing the bike up. It is kind of cramped in the front though. My "boys" are going to have to get used to that riding position.

I'm 5'5" and about 160. I have a Springer Softail (FXSTSI), Sportster (883XLC) and just traded a Screamin' Eagle Road King on a new 2011 Electra Glide Ultra Limited (FLHTX). There was no way that I would have been able to control the new Limited with the factory seat. I barely could touch the ground on both sides.

I picked up the Super Reach seat and it gets me down and I can see through the windshield. My only complaint is, it seems that I'm sitting upwards on the rear of the tank. Wished it brought me about 1.5" back, but at the same seat height. Guess I need something in between.

Maybe more time in the saddle will help me get comfortable with this position.

Attached is a picture of my FLHTX with the Super Reach seat.

Try contacting Mean City Cycles, their web site says they can move you back in the saddle. I will be looking into them when I find me a good used Sundowner.

I don't like that it moves you that much closer the the bars. I wouldn't mind being 1" lower, but not 2.5" forward.

Looks Good! Let Us know if it's comfortable when you get some miles on it.

Default Super Reach Seat install Problems

I have a 06 FXDLI Dyna Low Rider. Bought a Super reach Seat (Solo 54384-11) a few days ago and the matching Pillion (51535-06A). My Dealer and I have been wrestling with this problem for a couple of days.

1. instructions say to bolt the pillion to the seat with the bolts provided, fine got the bolts but the seat does not have any bolt holes.

2. Tried to just go ahead and install without bolting togather and the seat just flexes in the middle (totally unsafe) can actually pick up in the middle and disengage from front mount.

I'm thinking about getting a seat mounting nut (7321) like used on the WG and cutting the plastic seat base off so i can secure the back of the seat then mount the pillion.

Any body have any thoughts????

Default One more comment about a seat

I just got an 09 Electra Glide Classic for Christmas. I need to be closer to the controls and closer to the ground. I'm 5-4 with a 29" inseam. My last bike, a BMW K1200GT was a tall one. I bought 2 seats trying to find the right one and never did. I was afraid to bring up the subject of seats again. Knew my husband would not be thrilled, but I am determined to be comfortable and confident on this bike. So we went to the dealer and he put the reach seat on it, 52619-08A and it felt much better, thinner and closer to the controls and the ground. It was the only one they had so I thought I had found the right one. Well I go home and look in the book and see another reach 54383-11 and the super reach. Should I just go all the way with the super reach or just get the in between seat, the regular reach? The super reach looks kinda dumb but lower is better. It just doesn't look like much padding. Has anyone taken the super reach on a long ride? How did it feel?

I was wondering the same thing. It looks like you are sitting on the seat pan.

I have the Super Reduced seat. I like how low it sits, but it is a nut crusher and uncomfortable on long trips. Looks like MeanCityCycles will have another job to do for me. I want to be moved BACK 1 1/2 inches.
