Thanks guys and I will post a post-ride trip report. Good idea to share the "planned" versus "actual" experiences.

Report should read, I rode for a bit then fiolled my tank took a pee, rode for a bit more then peed again etc etc. Look around a bit but dont get killed finish the ride and get a burger and a beer.

Then trade that fugly bike in for a Ultra. Ride safe friend.

Now why would I want a Ultra when HD is copying me and my Fugly Ultra?

Averaging 40/41 mph isn't that difficult. It the weather, cagers and going without sleep that gets the best of you.

Jeeze Louise, using the search function has been covered many times. Did you search for that before you posted?

Here we go!!! lol

Hey rogerfromco, I also searched some time ago figuring out how to put a gps on my RKC, and mp3, etc. I was able to get some cool J&M speakers for my bars (no fairing / head unit), and wire up some feeds for my gps, phone, or ipod.

I also have the Garmin 350, which is functional, but was considering getting the waterproof version, especially if I could import rides. I did not figure out how to best input a route plan as you described, until reading your post.

I'm curious, by saving various points to your favorites, and then adding them as a destination to the trip, have you also figured out a way to control the route it takes to get you there? In other words, my ultimate goal is to be able to take a particular scenic road to a destination as opposed to whatever the gps might think is a more direct (and usually more boring) route.

Thanks for any feedback on that note. I've used the gps to get where I'm going, or get home, when a direct route is acceptable to me, or to figure out where I am relative to nearby roads or facilities, but I haven't been able to plan a whole ride w/ it because of the less scenic routes it chooses.

Hey Karz - What I did was map it out on the computer using Mapquest and picked enough points along the way to "force it" to follow the route I want to take. Then each point is saved sequentially numbered and named by the town to help me remember which one to choose next. The way the Nuvi 350 sorts "favorites" is be the closest point to your existing point. I wish it sorted alphabetically, but I can live with that. Hope that helps.
