Our HOG Chapter uses 26 when we are on a group ride.
Point is, I think.....if you are riding with a GROUP.....you can pick what ever channel you want out of 40 channels.
But if you are by yourself, and want to listen.....you may want channel 19. You might feel lucky and tune in to channel three/one/thirty two and hope a group of Harleys/Hondas go by you and happen to chat on the CB while you are in range.
(I have my cell phone hooked via blue tooth to my GPS...send me a text.)
When I rode with those on Ventures (Yamaha's Tour Class Bike) they used Cb CH 29, I have been told that 19 is for truckers because of how the SRW is tunes, best range etc.
I tend to use 1 or 3, or whatever seems quiet during the trip.
Every group I have ever rode with regardless of what make/model they rode, we were always on Ch 1. We would only change if seperate group of bikers were already on the channel and we were interfering with one another.
When riding by myself I am on channel 19.
And I also had a Goldwing for years and they have regular CB radio, just its range is 5 times greater than Harley.
