engine led accent lights?
just got some installed. For any of you guys that have these, whats the longest you run them with the bike off before you start draining the battery? thanks
I installed HD's lite pod kit with the expansion set 4 years ago & they have only been turned off only a couple of times. they have honestly been on non-stop 4 over a year and that was 2 prove 2 someone that they do shut off. @ only 250 miliamps why bother. I call them Safety lights whenever sum1 asks. looks like wheels are standing still @ about 65 MPH @ night ... totally ****n awesome #ridesafe
Tigerladyshim: No, they"re not hard to install. The easiest setup is to use a fused wiring block. For each light, run an individual line to the block. That way you won't need any extras just to keep the current balanced. That seems to be their only fault. They are a bit sensitive to current changes. They use double sided tape to hold the pods in place and shrink tubing to cover the wires.
I have the waterproof flex strips on mine with 2 clusters in year. Right now I have over 200 led's on mine, front tire too. It glows across each lane on both sides of highway at night.

I have less than 150.00 invested. Takes a little time but worth it.

Got mine from a seller on ebay named Florida Joe. He has gr8 kits @ good prices. I too left mine on overnight with no problems. Dont think I would do it on purpose though.

I got this kit for Xmas in '08.... Boogie Lights TNT Engine Kit....with remote controls (2). Kit had 7 lights in it, was simple to install. I put the manual switch under the adj. backrest lever. I've since ordered another kit of 6...I want to put 2 inside/under each saddlebag...remaining were for my buddy that needed 2 more. The look pretty good to me!
Hardest part is remembering to turn them ON!!! lol I usually use them on my ride home after graveyards (4:30am).

I put the Boogey lites on my RK. I had about 140 LED's and was easily able to leave them on for 8 hours with no problem. That was the longest I tried.
