I have the adjustable and do move it forward to let the wife on and off the bike as it gives her an extra inch or two .

sometimes when riding and I need to change positions I will move it forward for more upright support or will move it back to recline a little.

I love the adjustable one. Not only do I occasionally adjust it on long trips but since it's powered by a gas filled piston it has a tiny bit of flex as you lean into it. I'm told that the range of adjustability is far greater too. So, even if you never move it you're more likely to find the perfect setting.

I have the standard backrest. It works fine. It took me a few trips to get it set just right. I don't know how much the adjustable one moves, but the standard has four holes to adjust the rest forward and backward, plus three more holes that let you move the rest up and down a few inches, and then a fine tuning adjustment on the back that adjusts the angle. I had more than enough adjustments to make!

Thanks for the input - I am looking forward to the HP gain! I just ordered the standard one from Zannotti.

I just bought the non adjustable and love it. I was advised by those that bought both to go with the basic one.

They were right.
