Well, I use a totally cool little gadget called the Joby Gorillapod. Comes in different sizes and is totally packable and very lightwieght. Just attach to "whatever" , set your 10 second timer and "viola", just like you had a photographer with you. About $18 to $20 bucks shipped or available at REI.
That is pretty cool, I am going to buy a digital video camera for recording rides and looking for different mounting methods. Anybody looking for the same, I have done some research and trying to decide between 2 cameras, the "Vholdr Contour 1080P" and the "GoPro Hero".
