Another ignorant remark although no surprise whatsoever given the sources previous remarks about Alabama. My friend, I've been to all 50 states multiple times and have traveled to 6 of the 7 continents and more countries then you could probably spell.
After all those travels I live in an area of NJ that is unmatched. If it weren't for the taxes and past politicians, this area of NJ would be the finest place in the US to live. You can only dream about the area of NJ I live in.
Second highest income county in the US. My town has a minimum of 8 acre zoning PER home. The town next to us has 12 acre minimum zoning PER home. Some of the best motorcycling along the Delaware River, the Water Gap, Eastern PA, Southern NY State and NW NJ. More horse farms than you can count as NJ is the second largest horse breeding/raising stock in the US (behind Kentucky).
You really need to get out more because the closet you're living in has shrunk your mind.
I'm watching JERSEY SHORE at the moment ..... all I can dream about tonight is SNOOKIE....maybe Joysie isn't so bad after all....
That's pretty funny. I never watched the show until last night. Figured I had to find out what all the "Snookie" talk was all about. Man.... is she a fire plug.
A whole industry has been built up around the show. Massive and I mean unbelievably large, block long, 3-story, "Clubs" have been built in Seaside Heights (Jersey Shore Central for partiers). The places are packed most nights of the summer. Rather surprising and all as a result of the shows success. At least it's employing some young kids having a challenging time finding jobs.
The % of the lights, heat and etc. is built in to the cost of the automobile.
How you can charge that back as employee wages is beyond me.
Whether the employee is making $2.80 or $28 per hour, he still has to see to do his job.
Union or non-Union...no lights, no company.
Would you people rather these employee's have no insurance?
No retirement?
Insurance & Retirement aren't fully funded by the company, in most cases.
You also can't say Workers Comp should be included as part of an employee's wage.
There are laws regarding Workers Comp...employees have ZERO control over this.
Not only that, it's protection for the company as well.
One $1 million gollar lawsuit lost because a company doesn't have Workers Comp...could pay FOR having Workers Comp for years.
Tell me, just how many CEO's have put in a full 30 years then retired for any company?
Very few.
CEO's move on...the grunts are in it for the long haul, usually.
I stand by my original figure of approximately $40 per hour.
Ain't here to argue with ya, it's very clear where you stand. My point is, you have a range when you talk about employee pay. The low is what the employee actually gets put into his hand, the high is all the costs related to every employee which is what I was saying. Everything else is in between and is very flexible depending on who picks what parts to include. If you wnat to make valid comparisons and statements you need to calcualte on a level playing field.
I take it you haven't been to Alabama. I lived there for many years. Go there for a visit and tell us all how you think I'm stuck in the 60's once you get back. Make sure you have your northern license plates on your car and try to act all friendly....just sayin....
You would "take it wrong." I've traveled Alabama and all the southern states and lived in the South. Lived in the Northeast and lived in the Midwest. Traveled the Far East, Europe and many other distant destinations including Australia. Met a lot of great people. Heatwave posted you should get out more. I believe we would all be better served if you would just stay home.
Want to know what the root cause is of your issues with the south? Take a look in the mirror.
From: Creektown aka Lower Alabama, but not that low
Come to Alabama. Stay with me in my house. I'm not from here originally. I moved here and stayed here by choice. You've hit every stereotype (HarleyRN) that media and old movies perpetuate. Too bad. Wake up. Convictions for the heinous murder of the children in that church bombing were obtained 40 years later. Years before he died, George Wallace asked forgiveness from John Lewis and other civil rights leaders. Maybe you're right. We hold grudges down here. We like to get justice, even if it takes 40 years. The New South is one of the happening places in the world. Major manufacturers are moving to this area and to Alabama in particular. Thank you peddler and others for your kind comments. I'm with you, from Michigan to Myanmar and everywhere else I've been, I've met some great people. You find what you're looking for, I guess.
