Jagg 10 row Vertical Cooler
Installed it the other day. Had thought about putting one on for quite a while but just never got around to it. As a 96" bike had always run around 210 - 230 on occaision going to 240+ in traffic. Since the 107" kit motor ran around 240 which I attributed to the bigger bore, still breaking in etc. Aside from roasting my nuts, although many say 240 is fine, I'm more comfortable with lower temps.
Ordered the Jagg 10 row vertical w/o thermostat (figured it's something else that could go wrong). Somehow my bike ended up with HD's adapter plate from the dealer, which is a mystery to me. Before I picked it up I had them put an oil temp guage in, the only thing I can think of is a tech thinking "cooler" mounting the adapter, then being told no, only the guage, deciding not to take the adapter off and just left it (about an $80 part). Long story short, I have a Jagg adapter sitting in the shop!
Maybe a 30-45 min install, clean look and works better than their older models (ran several of them over the years, and think they make the best one out there). The motor has just about 1800 miles on it now and I'm still running a non-synthetic oil but the temp has yet to go over 200 degrees; might get up to that at a long light but as soon as I roll off it drops right down to 180 or so, bearing in mind that I'm in Florida and temps have been mid to upper 90's. So far it's all good
Why is it mounted flat on the side like that. It doesn't appear to be the optimum mounting location and the air flow can't be as good as straight on would be.

I don't have the part# but if you have the dealer do a parts breakdown on HD's oil cooler kit it will show the adapter plate. IMO a much cleaner setup than the Jagg, also you don't need the "anti rotation" piece to keep the adapter from turning if your oil filter is on too tight
Lonewolf176The adapter plate used to come with the oil temp gauge.
I didn't know that, all that comes with it now is a 3/8x1/8 bushing to go into the pan; now it makes sense! I mean a shop manuel used to contain a parts and trouble shooting section til someone realised they could make 3 seperate manuels and sell them all for the same price!
