Was taking a two day trip through West Virginia this week. Was in stop and go traffic with the temps about 90 when the bike completely shut down. No lights, power, no nothing. Coasted into a parking lot. For a couple minutes the bike wouldn't turn on (no power). Before I got the seat off to check the battery, I tried turning the bike on again and it had power so I fired it up. Haven't had a problem with it again except the radio has no power. I check the fuses that night and none were blown but the radio never came back. Any suggestion to what might have happened? Haven't had a chance to take the fairing apart yet
That is what I thought until the radio wouldn't come back on. After the bike shut down it was only off for 3-4 minutes until power came back on. I would have thought the 3-4 minutes the bike would have actually got hotter since it was sitting with no air flowing over the engine to help cool off ??????
I wonder if your regulator just got to hot and shut down, that would make me wonder if it might be going out, then again some times these gremlins just come up and go away and never do it again, for the radio who knows.

I'm wondering if there's a security feature with the radio that when it looses power, there is a code required to reset it like some cars have.
just a thought. might wanna check with the dealer or manual
Check to see if the speaker switch in the on position. Could be you turned it off when checking switches. I had a similar experience after some service work. They Tech had turned off all the dash switches and I had a similar experience.
Don't think it's a security feature cause I've had to take the battery out before with no problem when putting it back in.
Aftermarket radio that had no speaker switch.
Be nice if it was a gremlin that only happened once. The way my luck goes I could run forever locally. First time several hundred miles from home is when it would pop up again
