I just Traded My 2008 Heritage for 2010 Ultra,I'm going to pick it up today. The salesman told me He wasen,t suppose to tell me but A lot of people will remove the rear baffles to make it sound better with out resetting the computer, does any body know if this is true,if not what can I do with out spending a lot of money.
AmericanCustom.com will remove stock baffles and install their brand. Their web site will have a lot more info. You won't have to re-program if you are only replacing mufflers.
Enjoy your new ride.
I have talked with two dealers on this one says it needs to be tuned the other one says no? Im looking to get a little more sound and have been told mufflers will do and have been told I need mufflers, air cleaner and a tuner?
I just want a little more sound these 2010 touring bikes feel like they are being held back due to the converter.
Mufflers, air-cleaner, tuner: Adjustments to your grocery budget.
FWIW -- I have American Custom mufflers and Superflow Max 2's (read my blog entry - Long story there). If you want great sound for incredibly cheap, wrapped in a "stock appearance" you can't beat the Max 2's. If you want something a little more "sexy" with adjustable baffles at a considerably higher price, the American Customs are quite decent.

I took a set of stock mufflers from my 05 and drilled out the baffels with an inch and eighth hole saw.(both mufflers were the same) At idel, you can tell no difference from stock to now. There a little more pep and a little louder when you twist on it. Its hard to get loud with the cats still on. Also, there was no tuning done. BTW, the 2010 mufflers are different, right from left.
