Earlier this week I noticed the fuel gauge light wasnt working. A quick post here and I got the part # (158) for a replacement light bulb. Went to Advance Auto today and got 2 bulbs for $4.00. I also picked up a bulb for my Tour Pak light which had also gone out.
Rode home and replaced both bulbs. When I had the outer fairing off I also relocated my xm sat. antenna from the handlebar to on top of the radio. It was then I noticed both horizontal fairing support brackets, the silver ones, were broken. So I buttoned everything up, since my bike is my daily transportation right now, and came back to the forums. I knew that this was a common occurence and found the answers I needed quickly. Gonna get the newest brackets tomorrow at a local dealer, I didnt check the vertical brackets before as I hadn't known about them. But those will get checked when I replace the horizontal ones.
Normally I hate when 1 repair turns into another but I'm alright with this as I can do the repairs myself and what the heck, working on the Harley is right behind riding it
Hello, I have a 2002 FLHTCI and I need to replace my fuel gauge light also, but my engine temp gauge, right below the fuel gauge keeps going out as well, but if I just tap the gauge glass, it comes back on. Do you think this is a short, or just a wire that needs to be tightened up? Also, was it difficult getting the outer fairing back on making sure all the weather stripping is in place? Thanks for your help!
