If you get a chance, take a little time to look to the NE tonight after dark. Especially if you are away from the city lights. Tonight is the best night for viewing our orbital intersection with the tail of the Swift-Tuttle comet. Should be a great meteor shower show this year with a small moon and a boatload of shooting stars.
It's a yearly tradition here at my house. We have a few friends over, set out the lawn chairs and an ice chest.

We live about 20 miles outside the south entrance to Yosemite, and our deck faces north, so I hauled a fold-out sofa bed out there.
