Perseid Meteor Shower
Hey guys and gals.
If you get a chance, take a little time to look to the NE tonight after dark. Especially if you are away from the city lights. Tonight is the best night for viewing our orbital intersection with the tail of the Swift-Tuttle comet. Should be a great meteor shower show this year with a small moon and a boatload of shooting stars.
It's a yearly tradition here at my house. We have a few friends over, set out the lawn chairs and an ice chest.
BTW. These will be Touring Meteors so it's appropriate for this thread.

Does this mean that if we look to the stars we learn that it's better to burn out than fade away ?

Clint, we are setting up to sleep outside tonight (to catch the Persied's peak at about 2 AM).
We live about 20 miles outside the south entrance to Yosemite, and our deck faces north, so I hauled a fold-out sofa bed out there.
When it's not something like the annual meteor showers, I usually broadcast real-time images through a 16" SCT and 20" Dob, over the internet.
Great steady and dark skies up here!!
