I did your method. I found a long road and followed your directions. I hit about 4000 rpm at the top then let off gas down to 30mph, then back up to 60 again. Did it 10 times.

i suppose only time will tell if it i sall good since there is no way to inspect it, right?

Interesting article. I figured that there is a better way because I watch alot of Power Block on Spike. Those guys do dyno runs on brand new engines after they break them in. I know that arent' running them for 1000 miles before doing dyno pulls.
