2010 Streetglide vibration
Had a 08 Sg with 19k on it. No vibrations at all until some fool in a cage rear ended me at a traffic light. Managed to escape with just whiplash. Lucky! They had to tow the Caddy!
Purchased the 2010 since it'll be months before my 08 could be repaired.
The dealer had added a Rhinehart 2 into 1, Arlen Ness air cleaner with a K&N filter and also a SERT with a base map for the mods. They told me to bring it back after 1000 miles and they would dyno.
I never got to ride the bike with the stock exhaust. Could I be getting this vibration from the Rineharts ? It seems more pronounced on the rt side but there is some in the left floorboard too. I added floorboard extensions and this seemed to amplify the vibration. The dealer had the heat shield against the floorboard mount. They forgot to add the spacer. I rechecked their install and retorqued all the fasteners and the flange nuts to HD spec.
Told the dealer about it and they thought that the new map after the dyno would help. It's still there.
I have the original exhaust but that's a lot of work to r&r. It does have a cat in the original exhaust.
I am going back to the dealer with this but I wanted to see if anybody else out there has had a problem with the 2 into 1.
Also wondered if the dealer was legal to sell a bike with the cat removed ?
They didn't tell me the 10's came with cats. I discovered the cat when I was removing the muffler from the header for storage.
The dyno specs were 74 hp & 85 torque

I'm wondering if the resonance from the pipes is setting up a harmonic is those floating floorboards. If I crush the cushion the vibration is gone. After I returned I took some temporary shims and made the rt floorboard not float. Riding tomorrow morning. Let you know if there is a difference.
Funny how those Harley techs can't feel anything. The service manager rode my bike and he couldn't feel any vibes. But he also didn't have a clue when I told him the heat shield was rubbing the floorboard bracket. He was amazed when he saw the .250" shim I installed. But that was after the chrome was rubbed thru. When the dealer does a dyno, all they do is modify the base map they selected. Not really a quality dyno job. You can program your sert to record, ride the bike and paste the info to your base map and do about the same thing the tech does at their dyno.
I had them load my new map onto my flash drive. Asked for the original map but they have no idea where it's at !!!!
After getting a $249 fluid change @ 600 miles on my 08 this one will only be back to the stealership for warranty.

Now I am looking for permanent solution to the problem.
