Anybody ever have experience with fixing a flat on the road - all by yourself - no help - using the "kits" - what to do?
Please advise!
It hasn't happened, yet. .
Do you carry the kit?
Do you hope for the best?
Call a tow truck?
Call a friend?

I have used a small 12 volt compressor(less than $20) to inflate a spoke wheel with a roofing nail. Tube was not torn and i was able to inflate tire enough times to get to a shop.
I have also used a small compressor and a car tire plug strip to help others with tubeless tires.
Web Bike world shows how to remove the plastic cover from a compressor in order to make it small...slime now makes a palm sized 12 volt compressor...
If you have tubeless, yes you can usually fix them. I use the stop nm go plug kit with rthe mushroom plugs and carry a mini slime compressor. Its kept me going three times now and I am cheap so I kept the tires on until they were bald and never lost a psi.
I carry a Safety Seal brand gooey-string repair kit and a small foot operated manual pump. I've used it once and that more than paid for the investment! Continued to use the tire till there was no tread left - about 16,000 miles after the repair.
