Replacement Bars on a 2005 Ultra Classic - Advice Please
Replacement Bars on a 2005 Ultra Classic - Advice Please
I currently have the standard HD bars that came with my 2005 Ultra Classic.
I'd like to replace them with a set of bars which would be at the same height but pulled back a bit. Currently I'm leaning forward and stretching for the bars and I'm seeking a more relaxed ridding position.
I've been told about Klockwork bars but am unsure of which set to buy.
Seeking advice and recommendations from anyone who has done this mod and would share the results, also did you need to replace any cables clutch / throttle and did you need to extended the wiring loom?
I put on Wild One 575 on my 05. Pulls back a couple inches. I'm 6' and don't lean forward anymore, very comfortable. Hands are still protected from wind. Had to replace clutch cable with a plus 4" and get a 1 piece mount bracket. Below is a web site for more information.
I put on the Khromewerks +2 sweepers. LOVE 'em. A little up, and back a couple inches makes a big difference. They are wider though, so that offsets the pullback a bit. Needed a longer clutch cable, and put on new throttle/idle cables that were longer, but the extra length really wasn't necessary. Original cables looked kinda crappy anyway.
Here is a post from BertK covering the whole thing.....get a tall cup of coffee and dig in.
