Yeh ya got me there mate. Had the full face shoei X11 which I used on the cbr1000 and fjr1300. Payed top dollar for it down under and couldnt justify another helmet when I got the glide until now. I guess I just like the idea of chin protection. Suppose its better to have it and not need, than to need it and not have it. After a couple of slides I was surprised to see the damage on the chin piece on my helmet and sooo glad I had a FF on.
Checked out the helmet websites and really liking the shark evo and multitec helmets. Going to the helmet shop soon to try them on.

Thanks, but I'm not really a genius, my point is....how can the wind blow through YOUR ears with a full facer on. You think to much, gotta get that crap outta there. Thats what bikes are for.

That's cool, I have done the same thing actually. I wear whatever I'm in the mood for when I take a ride. Somtimes I'm all decked out like a pirate, and sometimes I look like some **** that should'nt even be out their. I've gotta talk like I have a sandpaper azz sometimes, otherwise it just get's all pent up.

Shoei multitec, I wear glasses and I can put it on without hassle.
one button lock makes it ez to flip up and get a drink or communicate.
The vents are pretty good and it is pretty quiet at speed.

HJC Symax II, was about same size(shell/shape) and similar weight as a regular full face. When open the chin bar is close to top of helmet. Note: The chin bar runs rather close to mouth also and second built in shield is only slightly tinted(will cut bite out of sun but glasses still required. The inside cheeks are removable. Bought from new enough..that store sometimes runs specials.
Tried the the shark evoline but it felt huge and heavy. (Nice concept helmet)
The shoei ? modular felt great but was rather pricey.

I'd guess the only reason wind is blowing through your ears is that there is nothing between them to get in the way. My original point is made yet again.

I have an hjc and I think it's noisy. I like the way it works and the drop down visor, vents and easy to use lid latch. I am going to try a taller windshield on my RG next year, I think, and hope that it helps the sound I get from the air hitting the top of my helmet.

Schuberth C3 here. My first and last flip-up. Too much weight on front when open. Awful aerodynamics when open. Noisy. No Bluetooth option. Delicate hinges (one cracked). Bad warranty service (fixed hinge but cracked & scratched inner screen).

So not a big fan of this kind of helmets, but some guys here are using french Roof helmets and are happy with them

I have a Shoei Multitech. I was hoping it would be quieter, but it is plenty noisy. Other than that it's good. Maybe an HJC Symax II next time. Love that flip-down sunglass thing.
