I just got my bike back together today with my newly painted inner fairing. A buddy of mine painted it so it is not a pro job but he did a pretty good job considering he did it in his garage. Has a few flaws in it but still looks way better than that ugly flat color. I also added fairing mounted Street Glide mirrors with chrome covers, the new sculpted dark smoked HD windshield and replaced my light smoked lower deflectors with dark smoked ones to match the windshield. Gives the bike a new look. I still need to put a radio in it someday but a chrome inner primary and SE compensator are next on the list when I can afford it.
I looked in the book and they have a different part number for the 08 on up. Does anyone know what is different? I was going to buy one on ebay and have it painted so I could do the swap in 1 day. Do I really need one from 08 up?
I think it has something to do with the location of the hole for the clutch cable but I could be wrong. I read that somewhere on this forum!
My black inner fairing is not crinkle finish so prep should not be too bad. I am so looking fwd to getting mine done in a few months!
