I have a 2009 Ultra Classic with Jackpot dyno tuned mufflers, PCV power commander with a map richened for cooling all from Fuel Moto.
I've been doing a great deal of reading on this forum regarding changing out the stock head pipes and am concidering purchasing the Jackpot 2/1/2 head pipes from Fuel Moto for $449.00 as advertized on their site. I'm hoping someone has done a head pipe change-out using the Jackpot head pipes and can answer a few questions I have.
1. Was the install difficult?
2. Can the stock heat sheilds be used?
3. I purchased the bike in California, does the stock header pipe have a cat converter?
4. Will the engine run cooler (cooler oil temp.)with the head pipe changeout?
Thanks!
1. No, very easy IMO
2. Yes, However, you will need to buy an extension piece for the right side.
3. If the bike originated from Ca. then Yes, if not possible no (all 2010 bikes have the cat but no all 2009)
4. Yes, My oil temp is now around 20 degrees lower and I could personally feel the difference coming from the exhaust system, MUCH cooler.

Thanks DocHarley, looks like I'll be placing an order to FuelMoto.
We did the change out (very easy but be slow and careful with the crossover/gasket install) to the jackpot 2-1-2 on our Calif. 09 too. I can't say we saw a drop in oil temp, adding an oil cooler took care of that, but the reduction in radiant heat off the right side was HUGE. The bike is amazingly more comfortable during hot day/low speed riding. For sure the best mod we've made for heat reduction.
I changed mine out on 2011 street glide with power pac, really made my bike come alive, Also have 255 cams and thundermax runs like a dream. I would really recommend the Jackpot head pipes.

As far as comfort my bike is near perfect. The only issue I have left is the radiant heat on the inside of my left ankle and left inner leg..
I also have a Fuel-Moto stage one system. Air intake, Power Commander v and 3.5 inch slash cut Jack pot mufflers.
I have pretty much run out of mods, but I am also considering the Fuel-moto 2-1-2 header system with the creamic coating to address the right side heat problem. Also considering 255 cams just for a little tweek for me.
Easy but go slow on the gasket fitting. While your at it wrap the pipes! You can't see them and use SS clamps to secure the wrap.Cooled mine down and noticeably runs better.

I did a 11 limited and put a Thunder-Max on it.
Liked the way it worked together.

I am planing to do the same on my 2010 Ultra. My question is about the extension for the stock shields. Can you give any more info? Where does it mount, where do you buy it or is the something that FM has, ect...

The stock heat shields fit perfect on my '11 limited with the FM headpipe.
Maybe the heat shields are different on the '10/'09 models?
