Hey Brothers and Sisters, I ride an Electra Glide that is in dire of a new seat. I am trying to decide between the Badlander and the Sundowner. I like the sleekness of the Badlander but I am unsure of the comfort factor of this seat. I generally try to log on 10,000 miles a year on my bike and i need a seat that will let me enjoy every mile I can because I have lower back issues. Which seat would you suggest. Cost is an issue, so I can't get the recliner that the bike originally came with.

I personally have the Bandlander, and love it for my long legs...but with back problems and just for an overall seat, the Sundowner is probably better. I've ridden a Sundowner once on a friends Road King and liked it...just my $.02
I actually have both. The Badlander looks great, but if I'm going anywhere outside of 40-50 miles I throw the Sundowner on. I can sit on that seat all day. Not so much with the Badlander.
I have both the solo and two up Sundowner. I run the two up with the backrest as well. I could not believe how much better the ride was. I could do 1000k a day in the stock seat, in the Sundowner I can do the same although when I get off at the end of the ride I am no where near as saddle sore.
I was in the same situation. I went with the Sundowner seat and love it. You can always add a riders backrest with the Sundowner. That is the set up I have now. The Sundowner is much better than stock. Looks better too.
I've spent lots of time on my Sundowner...sat once on a Badlander and didn't like it. For what you've described, in particular the back problems, the Sundowner is your only real choice. Try to swing the adjustable backrest with it...$$$ money well spent.
