I know I saw somewhere that guys were installing this adjuster. I am getting ready to do the comp so I figured while I was in there I would do the wedge. Anybody had any luck with it? I know DAWG was waiting on one not sure if he got it in yet. I figured if I was doing the comp it was a good idea. Let me know if I am going to waste the money or If I am going to help the cause.
Some on here have luck with it, some didn't. I didn't. I had to rework it because of the crappy tolerances on it and I took it out shortly after I installed it. If you do a search you will some of the problems folks had. I think it might have been the first batch that was rushed to production, but I don't know.
Any chance you would go back. It seems like a great idea in the end but I am not having any problems at all now and I don't want to cause any. I will be in there doing the comp to get rid of the small take off shudder. I just want to have all my ducks in a row when I open her up. That way we can limit the ammount of times I have to tear into it. Thanks for the info as always DAWG.
I don't know if I'd go back and try it again. Right now I'm taking out my EVO 30T and putting in the SE Comp and EVO 49 Tooth ring gear conversion. Also putting in the older yellow dot clutch spring that's good for 330 lbs instead of 300 lbs as we have in there now.

I installed a new HD adjuster when I changed my inner primary bearing on my 07 recently. I ordered the upgraded adjsuter (A version) and received a further upgraded version (B version). The changes and improvments were obvious. If I were you, I'd use the proven HD version.

Dawg can't believe what I am reading. Thought you were dead set against the SE comp. Will the EVO 49 tooth ring gear give you close to the same gearing you had with the EVO 30T? I am still in agreement the 07' / 08' bikes have lousy gearing and will be waiting to hear how your ring gear replacement works for you.
I was considering installing the wedge when I installed the SE compensator. I didn't have sufficient funds to do both, so I only changed the compensator. I no longer feel the need to install the wedge, as it seems like the compensator took care of the vast majority of my issues.

I still firmly believe that part of the issues with things like broken fairing brackets, etc. are an indirect result of vibes being transferred elsewhere in the bike from the compensator in correlation with the IDS. However, the 30T was fine for me around town, but on longer trips it was just a little too much with the RPM's on the highway. The 49T will be a great compromise instead of the stock 46T. It won't raise the RPM's as high, but still do away with the crappy gearing. And in doing that, I would have had to put back in the stock compensator so I decided to just go with the SE. Mama's rheaumatoid arthritis is getting such that she can't enjoy the ride as much so I decided to change out the driveline to make it smoother as well as suspension upgrades. Otherwise, I would have stayed with it the way I had it.

Do you have a part # for that spring. I have the SE one I was going to install so I was unsure of the rating on the two compared. If that 330 is higher I might have to get one on order.
