07 tranny probs?
Find an honest dealer that will not feed you this line of ****.If you werent the first few guys that complained and honestly had the bike opened up and looked at,or something replaced, then this is the line you will get. They consider you a newby that just tools around lugging your motor, holding up traffic a parader.Right now its every man for themselves and good luck finding a dealer that will comfirm your noises.Everyone with issues needs to return these bikes to your dealer, call C/S first getting VIN on file.Make yourself heard, get the factory reps working night and day to satisfy your demands.File complaints to all that will listen, contact these bike magazines that you all read.Get everything in writing, record your reply phone calls, contact BBB,NHTSA,local televsion consumer editors etc.Expect a fight and take it head on.It AMF days all over again but this time you have more on your side to battle back with.
Sorry, but this is HD and not AMF. The company has alot to loose by taking that attitude. I'm sure they are working on it. It's hard to come up with a solution when you don't know the cause.
No one here has been able to, no dealer has been able to. Also, why is it some bikes and not others. Shouldn't it be all of them?
Bottom line is they don't want to announce anything and say something is wrong because they are not ready to take responsibility yet. OK, you don't know what the problem is. Let people know. If there is NO problem and they are to be that noisy etc. etc. etc. then make an announcement, send emails and letters out to your dealers so they can spread the word.
At work- If something goes wrong does everyone ignore it or do they hold a meeting and say let's fix it? If HD wants to have this great reputation, what would the right choice be?
thru the warrantee period.
Then there home free... And were skerood..
And how long is too long to wait?
The other day I went to take off from a light, lust eased the clutch out and it sounded like
an overheated car, or like a car that sits and keeps running when you shut it off. Was kinda embarassing
there were onlookers admiring the NEW HARLEY DAVIDSON.. I yanked the clutch in and gave it some throttle
to clear it out took off at a higher rpm and she went ok...
I think there is a combination of issues... I think it's in the easy clutch setup, Primary chain, Cam Chain Tensioner.
and maybe the clutch pack assembly. Tranny for sure....
The engine sounds solid...
I am a Master Auto Technician, and we have a network called IATN, International Auto Technician Network, and if we have a problem
like this it, get's solved with a quickness... And MOCO may have the same resourses...
I have started to not use the 6th gear, and keep the rpm above 2200... 75 mph is just a bit fast for me in crowded frwy traffic.

One thing to keep in mind is the fact that the new bike came out at the end of July. It hasn't really been that long - in other words - all the complaints haven't even really begun. I'm sure by the end of the year, they will be making formal announcements because by that time, people (new customers) will asking the dealers about the transmission noise BEFORE they buy a bike. Once sales are affected, they will have no choice but to address the problem. It ain't over yet - it really hasn't even begun. One thing that might help is sending an email to the manufacturer. Something plain and simple - just in case the dealer forgot to mention it to 'em. And express it as a safety issue rather than a noise issue. Safety concerns carry more weight.
I just feel for some others and don't want to hear about any HD Brothers having bad accidents.
