HD, 2 months ago Roadkingbigjoe was only claiming to have ridden an '07 RKC and a Road Glide. Now he has ridden a new Street Glide and an Ultra classic too. For someone that is so happy with his '04 that sure is alot of new bike riding going on or test riding for a future upgrade. Well, that or he is full of sh*t.
There are a bunch of ladies posting here. I can't believe we are on the 28th page of this. You guys should drive around on top of your car's engine all day and start a post on what sounds you hear. Ride the thing.
Ok, back on the tracks, I took an 07 Electra Glide Std. for a demo ride last fall. I ran it through most of the gears and shifted eacharound 4000 rpm's. That thing just glided along nicely. I didn't even mind the stock pipes. I wish I knew what was in storefor 08 butno wayHD will let thatever leak out. That amazes me.
Reading these posts 4 months ago is the reason I didnt buy an 07 RKC. I found an 06 RKC and after 2500 miles the thing began vibrating so bad I couldnt ride it. They checked it out and said everythig was to specs. I took it for a ride and drove it back to the dealer and had someone pick me up. Is a Harley like a Mercedes?
Has anyone pulled there primary cover off and checked the chain tensioner? With mine off I can move the chain up as far as I want and the auto adjuster moves up and down with it. I was told it had a ratchet type deal that would keep the chain tight. Someone said they knew someone that put a older style adjuster in there. Do they have a part number?
hd2007,
I own a 07 with more miles on it than most will put on in years.... Why is it you find it incomprehensable that a few folks have real issues with their bikes. I asked you this before but never got a response(what dealership do you work for?????)
You would defintely be a bit more concerned if you knew the whole story.
anyway in the meantiime ride the damn things and if any of you put enough time on the bike to break it during warranty if you're LUCKY HD will fix it
