Anyone make floor board bracket with higher clearance?

I would wonder why you are compelled to take curves so fast that you drag the floorboards and brackets. If you were able to raise the floorboard and brackets, wouldn't you be more inclined to lean even more?

IMO this is a serious design flaw in the 09's and up. The boards are supposed to retract giving you some warning that you getting close to the max lean angle. The mounts are not moving and they do touch about the same time as the boards.
I just had an incident where that bracket caught a lip of asphalt when pulling into a parking lot that ended up putting us down. I was 2-up and leaned the bike to turn into a parking lot. The road was being resurfaced and had a small lip where the new asphalt was being laid down. When the suspension compressed combined with the slight lean turning in the bracket caught the lip throwing the bike down. First time ever for me putting a bike down in over 25 years of riding on the street.

I had wondered about how much you could raise the center of gravity before it became an even worse scenario. But you guys seem to ride beyond my level of comfort as yet, so I didn't bring it up. Still curious tho...

I don't like scraping. It's not a comfortable feeling. Yet it happens all the time 'cause I like to ride at a good clip. Idk. One of the reasons I don't have a deluxe is because they're even worse!!
I guess I'll buy a set of mounts and get to some back yard engineering...

What 13" rear shock did you install? How much do you weigh? If you're riding with the sport bikes you need to adjust your spring rates to match your weight, and set-up your bike's sag to make full use of your suspension. As a rule of thumb, the bike should not compress the suspension more than about 1/3 of the total travel. I have Ohlins set-up by Howard and gained back about an inch of cornering clearance when I installed them. Of course, I'm about 275 so the suspension was way to soft for me. With the kind of riding you are describing, you need your suspension working. My Traxxion / Ohlin setup works pretty well, but I'm not chasing down any of my 'busa buddies (my last 2 bikes were busas). By the way, my bike probably sits higher than most, but only my floor board hits if I scrape. Your suspension would have to be pretty well compressed to hit the brackets consistantly I would think. I would be interested in a little more cornering clearance, but would not want the bars or exhaust to be the next thing to hit.
