His wheel balancer is another winner. Several years ago I collaborated with three friends and we all bought this, a Harbor Freight tire mount, and some other miscellaneous stuff (RuGlide [tire lube], rim protectors, etc.). We've been mounting our own tires and this balancer works great. It's gone up in price since we bought ours for $75, though.
+1 on Marc and his wheel balancer. Did the same thing on changing tires. Have a NoMar wheel change set up that I share with a friend.
You are right, but I have the worst luck of anyone in the world. It it can happen, it happens to me. Most things go real smooth, but then there is that one time..........
I understand fully. When I got my tumblers out of whack I thought at first I would have to tow it to the HD shop. I stupidly turned the ignition **** without first having the washer/spacer/nut assembly in place to position it properly at the right depth.
To fix it I just looked at the shaft and rod, then with a flat-blade screwdriver matched the tumblers up with the rod. It was a tense moment but it worked, and I won't make the same dumb mistake again.
Anyway, the Parnes tool does the same thing as inserting the ignition-switch ****, with the spacer assembly in place of course. With the tool you don't need that.
