Default Bummer

Went for a ride in the hills today, coming through a little town at 30 mph I start hearing a faint knocking. Sounded like it was coming from the primary. We stopped at a store, listened, no knock, shut it off, cranked it back up, no knock. Get back on the road, no knock. About a mile down the road I hear a noise sounds like I run over a soda can, looked down at the primary, back up at the road, and I have no speedometer, trans starts making noise out both sides of the bike like its got marbles rolling around in it. Pull over again, check it out, can't see anything obvious, hit the road again. Speedo works for about half a mile and the noise is still there, pull the clutch in, noise goes away. Had to ride about 15 miles to get home with visions of it locking up on me all the way.

Between work and a 2 week trip to SC I have only put about 600 miles on the bike since I bought it, has just under 3000 miles on it total. Pi$$es me off, I know I am going to lose it to the dealer for a week or so I am sure. Couldn't wait until winter, nooooooooooo. LOL

just venting a little, chit happens

Sure we do, it starts around the first of February and ends around the first of March.

To the OP, hopefully they can get you back on the road soon. Where did you end up taking the bike in San Antonio?

Chip, look at the bright side, it could have happened in the middle of nowhere with no cell service, Its just part of riding, it is a shame it happened with so few miles on it. Hopefully they will have your wheels under ya b42long. Good luck.

A whole month with the temperature down into the mid 70's? How do you stand it...

That's a bit much, asking for a new motor due to problems with the transmission.
OP should have stopped as soon as you were hearing noises, I hope it didn't cause more damage by riding it.

Took it to Gruene Harley, (where I bought it), they're not even going to be able to look at it until Thursday. Did offer me a loaner, but since it suppose to rain all week I told him if it's not ready by Saturday I would come and get one. Said it wouldn't be a problem.

Cyclone, after summer around here, 60 feels cold, below 50, unless it's a charity ride, quick run to the store or something, I'm taking the cage. I can sit February out. You northern brothers can hard core it all you want, I sure if I only had 3 months of decent riding weather, I would do the same.
