I was just giving you a hard time. Bars look great. Plus you have the satisfacion and savings of doing it yourself. Arlen Ness has some cool mirrors and several companies have plugs for the mirror holes. Check out Magnum shielding cables. Dr. Vtwin sells them. You can get a black +2 or 3 clutch and it is easy to install. That will stop the pulling. If you decide to do braided lines and cables you can do the brake without bleeding the abs if you are patient.
I did a set of HCC 12in apes on my buddies 07 UC never never again ****ing throttle cables to long clutch cable to short and I bought the kit from HCC so I wouldnt have these problems not worth the aggravation...

That's a bummer. My buddy just put a HCC set of 13's on his SG and it went smooth as silk. They look great.
Hey Guy's I'm new here but I just wanted to say thanks for the great advise and pics of your works. I was on the fence with the PYO MBB in regaurds to which hight to go with, I definantly think i'm going with the 10's since I'm one of those verticly challenged (5'6) folks. Anyway thanks and look forward to contributing in the future.
After using these 10" apes for a while i am having a big issue with the clutch cable not working. I might be able to remove the cable from the fairing but just ordered a +4 cable instead so i can keep the clean look of the cable going into the fairing. I already have two of the steel wires that make up the cable sticking out of my clutch cable from trying to make right turns. I was stuck at a gas station today because i couldnt get the clutch to let go because the cables were sticking out and not letting the rest of the cable go back onto the tube. Just putting it out there for anyone who was told you can use all stock cables and wires. Like I said, you might be able to pull the cluch cable apart were you adjust it and pull it out of the fairing but keeping it in isn't working on my bike.
Does anyone know where the best place to purchase the PYO MBB is? I am wanting to try and put these on as soon as I can, any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks.
You can get the PYO MBB from Dr. V-Twin. Good price & Good people. I just got a set of 12" MBB w/ Magnum cables. Installed them this week and couldn't be happier.
I haven't read everypost on this topic but have installed a couple sets of apes with tbw, biggest problem I had was that the tbw connector is in the worst place possible when runnin the other wires for controls in the bars. You can screw the tbw wires up pretty easily. From now on I'm gonna use the screamin eagle tbw complete harness. It works the easiest but costs a little more.it made the last install a lot easier, there are no wiring connecters to get in the way, the tbw wires connect after the wires come out the bottom of the bars. I hope this makes sense, I swear this makes things a lot easier.
When I did my 575s, I ran into the same problem with the clutch cable. I rerouted the cable inside the fairing and gained enough for the clutch cable to run smoothly. I think the reroute gained about 2 inches of cable. On the TBW connection, I just used electrical tape, and taped the hell out it of it...no problems.
Searching this site, sure made everything alot easier for me.
Thanks to those before me that posted their installs, mistakes, and successes.
