1) RG has double the lighting. It does make a big difference.
* I think the SG should have the passing lamps standard.
2) RG has double daytime visibility.
* If you install the passing lamps, the SG has better daytime visibility.
3) RG feels lighter, less mass bolted to front forks.
4) RG is more stable at highway speeds.
* Passing trucks, oncoming or ongoing is uneventful.
5) RG handlebars can be changed to higher bars much easier and cheaper.
6) RG mirrors can be changed.
7) RG has watertight glove boxes.
* Used for garage door opener, clear glasses, Ipods . .
8) SG radio is louder, closer to rider.
9) SG has the classic looks.
10) RG has a cockpit gauge feel.
11) RG Fairing doesn't move with the handlebars.
* Rider should be looking down road anyway.
12) RGC windshield on the 10' and 11' must be changed to a larger design.
* Windshield looks good, but does nothing for the wind.
The Street Glide is a more popular bike and everyone and their Mom has one.
The Road Glide is ugly and anyone that has one loves theirs....go figure.
I have a SG and RGC. I ride the RGC. It's more fun to ride. The SG is now the wife's bike because it's for little people who like to look good and be all stylish. Make sure you wear a belt that matches your shoes and purse.
Apes don't look "as stupid" on a Road Glide..
Nearly every woman I saw at Sturgis on a Bagger was on a SG.
This is a very contriversal post. I own a 2010 Road Glide my second Harley. I am 28 years old and if you would have told me a year ago I would own a ugly Road Glide I would have called you a liar. Two of my buddies owned Street Glides while I was riding my 06 Super Glide. I would ride their bikes and find myself hating the wind I would get from behind them. After getting sick of seeing the look alike Street Glides I decided to purchase a RG. After taking a bunch of flack for buying the ugliest bike my buddies have ever seen both of them switch with me on different occasions both prefer the wind on my Road Glide over their Street Glides. Both buddies still strongly feel it is the ugliest bike Harley ever made, but actually like riding it over their own. If people could just get past the looks the would actually find that the Road Glide is the best ride Harley has ever made. All this aside both are great bikes and I wish I had enough money to own every model Harley make but for now I will enjoy riding my Road Glide.

I have SG and love it. I have ridden a RG and have seen the advantages and the few disadvantages. But that being said they are ugly in my opinion(well as ugly as a harley can be, I like all of them). It still comes down the fat girl analogy, yea it may be one heck of a ride but do you want to be seen on it in public?!!! LOL!!!

Riding a 2010 RGC ... never thought it was ugly before I got one, like it even more since I bought mine. Tried the Street Glide, but preferred the feel of the Road Glide. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (and owner). Frankly, they're both great bikes.
