Might as well get the 96 and put the 103 kit on yourself then.

That way you can build it around a good cam, and address the details such as deck height and quench (that the factory is sloppy on).

couple of thing the factory 103 gets you is compression releases (acr's) and an oil cooler.

More displacement too.

A good option, but can be improved on.

I personally wouldn't have any problems with what they changed in the rod setup as your car has been made that way for years. However...I do wonder about the crank area and no bushing.....only time will tell. Although, I'm sure they tested it for longevity because if they didn't and it turns out to be a problem.....rep and money will cost them.

well I figured that was obvious lol. Actually even if it were a factory 124" it could be improved upon, all it takes is money and know how.

I was impressed with the torque boost kicking it up to a 103 from the factory ....even with the stock 96 cams. I figured they didn't put in the 255s to force buyers to have the dealer do it....more money. Darn sure would not have cost the factory anymore to do this during the engine build. My SG with the power pac just hit the 1K...it is in the shop having the break in maintenance done and the following added: SE Ventilator A/C, V&H bagger duels, SE 255 cam, stage II download, and V&H fuelpak added. Standby for eval once I get it back. Should have did it myself...lol
