I have been searching for more info on the harley parade fan. I looked into that lenale fan but heard good and bad about it. Which one works better? It seems like i get stuck in traffic alot and I dont wanna cook my bike or me if I can help it. 2009 street glide. fuel moto power pack setup right now.If you got any info on these fans Id greatly appreciate hearing it.
I run the lenale on my 2010 Ultra & I like it.You have to be careful with it around water though. They don't handle water to well.If they get extremely wet count on it not working anymore. But it does do a very efficent job of cooling the heads & keeping the oil tems from rising!!! Just my observation. It also looks better to me than the Harley version!!!
I've got one on my 98 it was on there when I bought the bike but took the blade out it rattled and was very annoying when riding as far as the hot air on right leg you really don't even know it's on.
I was looking at instructions on Harleys website. I wonder how you mount the thermostat with a stage one air cleaner. It mounts to backing plate on stock air cleaner.
I was assigned a RK with one on it in motor school. About all it did was blow hot air all over my letg
..Only some of the bikes in the class had them. The factory tech assigned to the fleet said they quit putting them on because they were notorious for their short life. He said the engine vibes beat the motor up.
I put the HD fan on my bike last January and so far I really like it.
I did the installation myself and took my time and had no issues with the installation. I also added the HD accessory switch that replaces the clutch mount clamp so I could turn it on manually if I wanted.
I have the stage one air cleaner and had to drill two small holes to mount the temperature sensor on it.
I read about the other fan available and the water issues with it and decided to go with the HD unit.
I think the additional cooling it provides was worth the cost.
