the product info states 2x oem for the oil change interval. I was running Syn3 and changed it a 7500 or 5000 depending on use. So is anyone running Amsoil that change it at 10k or 15k?
An important factor that is often overlooked by some when going to extended oil change intervals is the service life of the filter. If the manufacturer claims a 7500 mile service life, then you wouldn't want to run with that filter past that. Can the filter be changed out on a Harley without draining the oil? If yes, then you could change the filter and add make-up oil.

I swapped out my filter at 4k on this round. But will not be using amsoil any longer. I went 8 k total on the oil change but 3k into had to add 3/4 quart. And at 5500 had to add another 3/4 quart. When I ran sync I wasn't adding oil. And reading a post here about his amsoil losing viscosity Im swigging to redline this go round. No more amsoil for me.
I've been using Amsoil for years and never had a problem. So I decided to sell it. If any one is interested I'll post my website. But anyway, What amsoil says is up to 2x oem intervals. I usually change mine once a riding season, so that between 5k and 8k and stretched it out to 12k once with a 98 RoadKing and the oil still looked somewhat clean when I changed it. I just put it in my 2010 roadglide after the 500 mile breakin. You can change it at oem intervals, but if you happen to go a little long, you got peace of mind. Amsoil also has filters to cover the extended range. When you change your oil, regardless of brand, Always PRIME the filter so that the oil will flow quicker. Otherwise you will run the engine dry until it gets through the filter. This is where much of the wear is caused.
