Default Road Glide Windshields

Who so far makes the best Road Glide Windshield.

I Would like to know so that I can make sure Im headed in the right direction with our current Prototype ( to be unveiled shortly)

It seems to me that there are some that work better than others.

Please send pics.

Depends what you consider "best"...

To me, I consider function over form, every time. Others may prefer looks over function.

Clearview has been wonderful as far as I'm concerned. Nice and thick, relatively scratch resistant, and the flip-up at the top makes a HUGE difference. I've also heard very good things about National Cycle's V-Stream, and know a few BMW guys who swear by them.

The Kuryakyn/HD/KW models look good, but for taller riders, don't seem to work very well - and they're kinda thin...lots of flex.

Personally, i want one that is thick, optically correct, and does a good job redirecting the wind with minimal buffeting. If you could manage to make one that flares out a bit more at the top without interfering with the mirrors on full-lock turns, that would be great. That little lip at the top does amazing things as well.

Don't know if you could work a vent in there, but the vented windshields from Clearview are great - especially in hotter climates when you use a taller windshield to cut down on the noise from the back seat....

Due to the fairing/shield being further forward than a batwing, RG's need a windshield that will move the 'quiet' pocket back towards the rider. I have a Cee Bailey's SSC on right now and it works pretty good. Not perfect but not bad either.

I have a KlockWerks 16" (dealer sales incentive). This type of "windshield" must work well for Brian's wife at Bonneville but it sure doesn't work real well for me and my wife says it sux big time. Right now (after considerable research and Q/A on two forums) I've narrowed the replacement down to a Clearview GT medium or a WindVest 14".

I'm done with the shouldered types. They're vogue with solo riders but just don't provide the function I'm after - a true windshield instead of some sort of an image for lookers to see. Besides, I want to hear my radiddio anyway.

I've owned 2 Clearviews. You can see them on the Clearview webpage. I like them because they are stiffer than stock and I can get a taller one than what is available through HD.

The downside to any RG aftermarket shield is interference with the handlebars. Since the fairing is stationary, taller bars can hit the side of the shield at full stop if they're not pulled back toward the rider. Not sure how you can work around that. Clearview redesigned their shield to address this problem, but they didn't eliminate it.

Uh-oh. I'm thinking of some Paughco 11" mini-apes for mine and expect the most comfortable roll-back to be close to zero - rising section almost in line with the forks. What'cha think WRT interference?

Maybe I'll have to go with Heritage style or some of those dog-legged "bagger bars" to clear the edges of a better shield.
