Clearview GT Small is my favorite so far. Thick, minimal vibration, and decent wind protection. Wind is good, by the way, we are riding motorcycles. It's how that wind hits you and affects you. Tried the KlockWorks and it seemed to compress the air and throw it at my head. Annoying, and vibrated excessively at idle, but looked cool.
Who so far makes the best Road Glide Windshield.
It seems to me that there are some that work better than others.
Please send pics.
.......... The tall harley shield is working for me, but if you'd make a tall recurve & 'flame' it, i'd look twice @ a new one
................ the flames seem to work better (way less cheezy) on the curved base of an RG shield
Please do me a favor LRS, when you are testing for new shield designs, use a rider with a full face helmet (FFH) too. I'm not saying that you need to make 1 shield for the FFH riders and another for the lid riders, but let us know how the shield performs with this variable. Do you some shields work better with FFH or Lids? Thank you
The stock tallest windshield on my 04 RG was a thin material and would start to vibrate at highway speeds.Had it for a week before installing the tallest Clearview.
Great company with good customer service.
Their sheild is also 2" wider than the stock windsheild, hece some complaints about the mirrors hitting the sheild. It only happens when you want lock your forks and if you play around and adjust mirrors properly they just barely touch and their is no problem locking.
Their sheilds are also taller(I am 5'8" and like to look through the sheild not over) and it sworks perfect. Would probably be OK even if I was a few inches taller. Their optics are much, Very much better than stock and the material is also thicker.
If you are a touring rider these are by far the best on the market hands down.
I've taken good care of it and it still is like new(NO Scratches)and thats after 6 years and 40,000 miles.
Build a windshield that looks like a Windvest 12" but comes further back towards the rider (but not higher) and still have a very pronounced lip and I will buy it.
Just look at the road glide . org site. A lot of us running 12" windvests... They are awesome for someone 5'9 and below. The best out of all I tried.
