They are making me crazy! Mainly on decell and now a little at idle. Do I need to just replace the rubber mounts (that's what squeeking) or is there a trick to quite them down? I turned them around in the bracket last night, and it made it stop. But by the time I got home from work today, they are starting to make noise again. 2001 FLHPI.... Thanks, Jason.
Sound like a recent problem with my 03 FLTR. If I pressed on the heat shield it would be quieter. Turn out the header support bracket was cracked. Right under the trans on the right side. Take a close look with a flash light.
I couldn't hear mine if they did squeak. In short, get a louder exhaust and problem solved!!! As they simply isolate the motor vibration they are prone to wearing out and not much of an issue to replace. Never tried any lubricant but again, I can't hear anything except the exhaust....
