They are making me crazy! Mainly on decell and now a little at idle. Do I need to just replace the rubber mounts (that's what squeeking) or is there a trick to quite them down? I turned them around in the bracket last night, and it made it stop. But by the time I got home from work today, they are starting to make noise again. 2001 FLHPI.... Thanks, Jason.
there where alot of posts about this awhile back I think. I think you can put something on them or replace..im not shure but I know what im going to try first..through them out and put true duals on this winter.maybe that will fix them?
Same problem here except the rubber grommet would slide out then start rubbing metal to metal muffler bracket to the muffler. So I glued the rubber grommet to the muffler so it couldn't slide out.

I have true duals now. So I dunno if that will help your cause.

Had the same thing at the start of the summer, I took the grommets out and switched them around a few different ways and haven't heard from them in months.
I use WD-40 or something similar on the metal bar that goes through the rubber part. It works for me. I have replaced the rubber isolators in the past but they just start sqeakin again so the lube trick quiets it down for a while.

pipes are intended to be able to slightly slide back/forth thru black rubber part.
If pipes are unable to slide with vibration of motor, possibility exists that increase tension could result at some other area due to binding. Increased tension could cause cracking or breaks in other areas of pipes or their mounting.
I had the same problem up till yesterday. Took me a few days to figure out where the noise was coming from. I just sprayed a little wd-40 on the bracket. So far so good.
