I have addressed the heat issue with the Oil Bud Cooler.
It was expensive, but what isn't these days?
I just have an issue with some of the negligence of some of the wrenches that work on your stuff, always have had. I can give examples....
On the warranty thing, I have been given a new front tire, but that's peanuts to what some of ya'll have got. I guess that I get treated alright at the dealership where I live here in the Black Hills.
A proper tune will get rid of the heat without oil coolers, in most cases.
The stock cam is not helpful at all though. It want's to burn all the fuel effeciently for the EPA, and that alone adds heat.
But running lean is also an EPA thing and richening it up helps to cool it.
Besides HD having the bike runnin real lean that makes the motor run hot.
HD has catalyst converters on some bikes and they got a lot of timing in the program that makes it run hot.'
If yer bike is pining it needs some timin removed.
Its tough when you buy a bike that you got to do so much to make it run a little better and cooler.
Heard something about in 2013 they ain't gonna let you remove the stock pipes.
Hope this is wrong.
Cause nobody will want to buy a stock bike and keep it.
The term void the warranty is misused, the correct term is deny a claim. A voided warranty applies to a totaled vehicle. Should someone rebuild the warranty is void.
On a vehicle that has a warranty, it is a written contract and is enforce until the time or mileage ends it. If you put in your own cams, tune or whatever and you wheel bearing goes out you are covered. If a rod goes out that would be a problem to say your work did not cause it.
The warranty is between the manufacturer and the owner. The dealer is paid to do the work and has a contractual obligation to the company to do so as part of their franchise agreement. Some Harley dealers don't have much business sense and have to be pushed into doing the right thing.
I asked the dealship I purchased my bike at if it would mess up may warranty if they installed cams. They told me that everyone mods there bike and they would stand behind the bikes they sell. They also told me that if I was out on a trip not all dealships treat there customers the same and I could run into problems.

In Colorado you only need one person's consent to tape a conversation. I have a button right there on my phone that I use all the time. Then I forward it to my attorney for use in all kinds of proceedings.

Perfectly legal to do so in Tennessee. Only one party has to be informed and I always informed myself. We use this with my boss (several of us tape the b!tch) all the time.
Took scoot in for 30k service today and actually had a call from the dealer service rep to tell me the tech has noticed a noise coming from the left side case they were concerned about (heard it too but figured it was compensator since I only heard it in neutral after I put the lowers back on).
He stated that he saw that I had the extended warranty and wanted to know if I wanted them to crack it and see what's up!
Told him yep and when ya find it then fix it and charge me that $50.00 deductable ya got coming.
Not real sure if I should thank him for being proactive or be scared to death of what they find!
Will find out in the morning either way!!

I got the PC-V, but she still ran too hot..(up to 300 a few times).she does run fantastic though not real good on MPG, but I do have a heavy wrist.. but she still runs great, don't miss a lick. I have the TW-6 cams, an d ready to install and they are on my short list, along with dyno-ing it and building my own map to work with the 6's. I can't wait to see the 6's, but I heard that they don't come on till 2800 or so?
Maybe the dyno-ers will be running a fall special?
