If you spend all your time worrying about it then you'll waste most of your life.
I ride a sporty and I don't give a chit. I'll always keep it no matter what other bikes I end up buying in the future.
A chick bike is whatever bike a chick likes to ride. I saw a 60 year old lady touring on an Ultra Classic Electra Glide. Some bikes (Sportsters) have been marketed to women so in the minds of the consumers that must be a chick bike. When I was learning how to ride I started on an 883 Sportster and some guys would tell me that I needed a guys bike. Remember, the only one who really knows what you need is you. I don't know why anyone would care what you ride or how much fun you are having riding it. Paint it whatever color you like and never spend a second wondering what others think about it.
Now I ride a Road Glide, but if I had the space and the money I would have kept that 883 and I don't really care what anyone has to say about anything I ride.
I like that Heritage torquoise and off white bike and if HD did it in the Ultra I might just have to......nah, red is my favorite but if the wife wanted one. . . .
I wouldn't worry about it, I wore a pink cap in honor of my wife beating breast cancer, nobody F**ed with me, so why worry about a bike? If you like it, who else matters???
in 2002 i bought a Illusion Blue touring bike. I got it because not only did I want a nice new touring bike, but because of the color it was the one that my wife liked best. And to me color was less important that arguing with my wife over the 18k I was about to spend on a new toy for me.
Anyway after riding it for a few months i started getting friendly teasing about the color from my Vivid Black Bike friends of it being a chick color, but later noticed, all the chicks commented on how much they liked the color of my bike, and would give me and my bike the second look while passing the black bikes without even a glance. LOL
So if these colors are chick colors, thats okay with me. I think I like pleasing the chicks more than the men.
I'm sure this thread is only for fun, so I'll chime in................ I think the question has more to do with guys that used to feel bad because they weren't quite as tough as some of the guys they rode with.
Now they feel bad because they aren't near as tough as some of the gals they ride with..........
