I have a 2008 Classic with 18,300 miles. I recently had the inner primary bearing and race fail. After speaking with the dealer and other Touring bike owners they say this is a rare bearing failure. Since the first fluid change I have run Mobil V-twin 20/50 in primary. Has anyone else had this type of bearing/race failure, and what type of lubricant will prevent this from occuring again?

 

30K on my 08UC, and no problems with this bearing. Use Formula 1 , change it every 5K.
