Default What Up With Seat Width

I've been looking at seats for my King (Alice Cooper song: Welcome to my Nightmare)

My question gos to seat width, Mustang solo's come in three width's 15, 17 and 19 inches. CC's solo is only offerred in 13.5 inches (seems kind of small) and Corbin's solo is 15.5 inches.

Currently riding a HD Sundowner, catalog says 16" And the butt burn is cramping my long trip abillity.

Trying to be and informed shopper, Whats up with the width.

I went from the Sundowner 16" to the Mustang 17" touring seat with passenger seat (model# 76033). The Mustang doesn't feel any wider to me but it does feels thicker and sits you a little higher than the Sundowner in my opinion, more like the stock seat as I recall. I had no problem with the Sundowner driver seat but my wife wasn't crazy about the Sundowner passenger seat so I was forced to get another seat to keep her happy. I like the Mustang seat very much and never have a problem with long rides. The picture in my signature shows the Sundowner seat; I haven't updated the picture yet.

"butt burn" probably has more to do with other factors than the width of the seat. Stayin dry is important - airflow, kind of underwear you wear, anti monkey butt powder, etc. There are probably threads and articles (google it) about butt burn and its causes.
