Rumor!!!!!!
People just need to give the MoCo a chance to work out some of the problems. This always happens when many changes are made or new models are introduced. Don't scrap them, report the problem so they can be worked out.

Phil- i agree with you to a degree. All my Harley Dealer told me is to keep driving it.....Mine freaking DIES on me and they have not changed a thing yet. Computer doesn't tell them anything is wrong......I was told to keep driving it until it get's WORSE or finally dies for good. Then they'll know what's wrong with it and can fix it.
This is NOT acceptable from anyone on a brand new bike. HD needs to start stepping up for me and replacing parts one by one until its fixed. If they wanted us to test drive these damn things they should start paying us for it!
Hell, you think the NASCAR drivers are told to just keep driving their car till they wreck it or get killed. Then they can fix it????[:@]
Now that is some twisted & intolerable dealer logic...drive it till it DIES! That is exactly what happened to my buddy...he drove his and it died. Lookin' like a new tranny...when they can get one, TOO BRUTAL.

Ron....er Lon.....the name is Paul! They told you to keep driving it because there is no code showing on the scanner. What if it dies in the middle of an intersection or during a pass of an 18 wheeler on a 2 lane highway? The '03 touring models had a recall on the main breaker when the engine got too hot.....bike dies. Maybe your main breaker is at fault.
I've been riding Harleys since 1993.....and have owned 8. Obviously a loyal customer, Life HOG member, etc. They put a bazillion miles on the VRod before introduction. Why didn't HD run the bejeeeeeezus out of this new drivetrain before intro? Pressure to keep up with the cubic inch war? Pressure from the EPA regs? Probably. Some warranty issues are expected and budgeted/planned for, but this is kinda over the top if you ask me. A transmission isn't a fuse, a code, a tweak, a breaker replacement.......this is a big-buck model year killer.
