Default am I being too picky?

I bought my first Harley last week, an 09 Black Road King. It only had 900 miles on it. Well after I brought it home and washed/waxed it, i noticed a small ding on the tank. It is very small, about the size of a tic tac. Im thinking about replacing the tank with a new one, but thats about $900 from the dealer. Am i being too picky on how the bike looks? The ding is very small, my wife cant see it and thinks im crazy for wanting to replace the whole tank for just one ding.

Well i tried to take a picture, but the ding is too small to show up in a pic, and you have to be at the right angle to see it.

Give it a couple of months, you'll have more dings to go with it. It's impossible to keep them perfect if you ride. I'm about as careful as anyone can be with my Bike. I've already got a few small dings and scratches on my 2010. Only had it 2 month's.
How are you going to feel if you spend 900 for a new tank, then find a ding on it. Might check with a body shop. they might be able to fix it cheap.

You are bound to get more. Don't focus on the itty bitty flaw. Instead look at the rest of your new baby and how perfect it is.

Ride it and enjoy it, man! If you're gonna put it in a bike show or whatever, it's worth fixin' otherwise it ain't.

Have you heard of the Dent wizard? They are a company that travels to car lots and can remove the dent without any body work at all.

I got a ding on my new 2010 front fender with a small scratch. That ding was the only thing I could see ever time I looked at the bike. I Had a painter give me a price to remove the dent and repaint. The cost was $300.00. I said forget that. I got some touch up paint for the small scratch. But most of all "Time heals all wounds." I don't think about it much anymore.
