There were some helpful answers to my question and some ignorant comments made.
Apparently it offends some people that I would like to have a compass. I really don't know why they would even click on this thread if they weren't interested in the topic.
Thanks to all the people who had something constructive to say. A lot of the roads here are in the mountains, where woods line both sides of the road. The sun can't be seen, and sometimes I'd like to know which direction I'm headed. I guess I could go up in the woods and look for moss on the north side of trees, but it's more fun to keep riding.
Thanks again!
My guess would be it seems like the cloudy/rainy season is so long.....
Ye the weather is crap here , worse summer for years , **** loads of rain fog n all sorts and now winter is starting , but i still get to ride most days , not always for as long as id like , but ill never need a compass on a motorbike , unless im off roading ....... not likely on a harley...EAZYDUZZIT , no ones being ignorant , just having a pull at your chain , its light humoured , n sarcastic , but not ment to be offensive , its a british thing , hope you realy enjoy your compass when you get it , n may your pecker always point north
