Default First service question

I took my 2010 Road King to my dealer for its 1st service Saturday and I am a little confused about the fluid capacities.
I ask for Amsoil 20w-50 in the engine, Bel-Ray primary in the primary, and Bel-Ray 85-140 in the Transmission.

I got billed for 4 quarts of Amsoil and got 22 oz of the fourth quart back. They only used 3 1/4 quarts of Amsoil in the engine. I checked and it is full.

I got billed for 1 quart of primary oil. I thought it took about a quart and a half to do the primary.

I got billed for 1 quart of trans oil and I know it takes a quart to fill it. All OK there.

What are you guys seeing for capacities in the engine and primay? Is the owners manual wrong?

The engine is full, not to worried there, but what about the primary? Do you think I need to get a gasket and check it myself?

Mine takes 3.5 in the engine and about 38 oz. in the primary. You can pop your derby cover off and put it back on without a new gasket, but you might not see your level very easy.

Sounds right, there always some oil left over in the motor, primary etc. Just hold on to the leftover and save the price of a quart of oil for your next service.

Bike was cold when they drained it, they did not let it drain long enough, left it on jiffy stand when they did primary?. And thanx you just help me answer a question. If I was going to bring bike to stealer for 1k or do myself.
What did they charge? $365 round here.

The bike was warm when they changed it. I had just rode 26 miles to the dealer and I was 1st in line with 8:00 appt. The total charge was $248.00 for the service, two hours labor @ $70.00 per hour.

may b they didn’t give it enough time, I have used a turkey baister to get out primary oil o my 77.
the price was good but may b they were worried about getting you done and out.
Once I had a Monty Carlo that leaked oil I never changed the oil just added a qt every 2 weeks and changed the filter once in a while. I am sure if they got out 75% of the old you will be fine. Not sure if I would bring it back to them. Most dealers put the bike washer on the simple svc anyway. Have you tried the local Indy?
