I there another manufacturer I should consider ?

The tall look of the back rest just looks out of place on my bike, though it may feel good.

And is the HD adjustable any better than the standard, I would think you pick the position and just leave it there, and no need for adjustment ? Yes ? or do you move it around during a trip ?

I still want one ...

Thanks
If I use the backrest with my stock Road King seat it sticks up and you can see the shaft, but normaly I have my Comfort stitch seat and the the back rest tuches the seat, and you can't see the shaft, I have one that I made that does stick up that I use when the wife rides with me to give her more room.
Yes I adjust my back rest as I ride because well things change, I might want to sit up a little, or lean back a little depends on how my back, and my but feels at the time.
Yes the HD adjustable is much better then the standard, I have a friend with the non adjustable, I love my adjustable.

The standard HD back rest on my 08 SG seat (which is similar to your seat) does not have any shaft showing. The material on the back rest touches the seat. Took a little initial bending and tweaking to get it comfortable, but now it's just plug in and go.

HD back rest is ONLY good if it fits the rider - I am a short legged rider so When I sit on a HD seat with the back rest - you could put a fist between my back and the back rest...

So, I had a Corbin fitted to my at the Hollister Factory and the back rest was also made to fit MY back - Now I ride in comfort and just finished a 7400 mile ride in June and a 2000 mile ride two weeks ago in ID and MT - I would never ride again with out one - but they have to fit the rider..

I had a Mustang solo with the backrest last summer. I figured I'd love the backrest, since I'd heard over and over again how great they were. Tried it a couple of times, and took it off. Felt like I was being held in the bike. I wound up selling the seat and backrest, and when I bought the Corbin that's on my bike now, I didn't even consider getting another backrest.

I'll never own a bike without having a backrest. As many have already said, the combo of a backrest and pegs gives you so many choices in riding positions and comfort. Being able to change positions on a long ride makes it easy. I started with the standard back rest on my Road King Classic. When I moved up to the Ultra I transferred the backrest. It finally broke so I switched to the adjustable backrest from the moco. I love it! It's so easy to change positions while riding and fits me so much better than my standard backrest did. I definite thumbs up if you plan on doing any lengthy riding.

I almost thought I made a mistake in buying my Harley until I got the back rest. My back was hurting pretty bad after a short hour long ride. I purchased the back rest and now can easily go 4 to 5 hours with no issues. Made all the difference in the world.

I guess I'm the exception. I have the standard HD backrest and just can't get comfortable with it. I used it on a 3,000 mile trip a couple years ago and made myself leave it on thinking I would get used ot it. When i got home I took it off.

This year I put it back on for another long trip and after the first 500 miles my back really hurt so I removed the backrest and rode another 2400 miles with no back pain.
