Default Do you ride at night?

Just wondering how many of you travel at night on your bikes? I don't mean just cruising around town or short rides on familiar roads, I mean actual travel at night. I find myself avoiding riding at night more often anymore. Seems like there's more stuff in the road than what there used to be. Some of the things I've seen in the road - mattress, steel I beam, lumber, clothes, pile of garbage, car bumpers, tires, and piecies of cars from where there had been an accident. Just too much stuff in the road anymore and at night I always worry about not seeing something soon enough.

There is also a lot of "furry" stuff on the road. Sometimes it moves and sometimes it doesn't.

Hells fire man, I live in friggin Mayberry and don't have crap like that on roads. Sounds more like Queens or the Bronx. In any case I do try to avoid night riding mostly because the eyes aren't what they used to be but mostly because of the critters.

I drive on LA Freeways. It doesn't matter if it's day or night, there is always tons of traffic and crap in the road. Just pay close attention and hope for the best.

Yes.

I live in Los Angeles, and the ONLY way to get out of this state going east (if you go west you run into the ocean) is to ride through the Mojave Desert. I often leave late at night/early in the morning to avoid the sun in addition to the 118 degree heat. I take my time and ride slower than most because I don't want to out run my headlight. The faster you go, the more chances of NOT seeing all the debris or having enough time and distance to react accordingly.

I will...but with my current "gotta be somewhere at certain times" rule, its improbable.

No offense intended to anyone in the NYC area. I spent enough time there to see my fair share of blow my mind stuff. I feel for anyone that has to stash a scoot in the city area. I have actually watched cars stripped in minutes, more potholes than Penciltucky (my home state) and all sorts of scary stuff on the roads. I do like the Long Island area but having to cross those bridges on my bike? Y'all have bigger boys than I have!!!! Sorry about the way I worded my post.
