Default Another SG Wheel Size Question

I have a 2009 Street Glide and want to install a 21" wheel on the front. I'm not planning on changing the rear wheel because I'm also going to install extended saddle bags in the future and you will not see the rear wheel. Don't want to spend $1000 on a wheel that can't be seen. Also considering installing the Progressive monotube front fork kit and 940 rear shocks. Has anyone kept the stock 180/65B16" wheel on the rear with a 21" on the front and will there be any affect on the handling? I have read lots of threads here but most install a 18" on the rear. Thanks

i have seen guys on the forum that have gone with 21 front and stock rear.
since you are going to be installing the Mono Tube fork kit you might want to go with the lowering option. I believe the kit gives you the option to lower the front end 1" or 2". Going with the 1"lowering option should keep your bike's geometry close to stock as the 21" front set up raises the front of the frame approx 1-1 1/4" due to the 120/70/21" tire having an overall diameter that is rougly 2 1/2" larger then stock......

Default 16" rear wheel

I've got an 08 SG. I kept the 16" rear wheel on mine and recently added the 21" up front.. I have both the front and rear lowered though. I have the HD kit up front and Bitchen Baggers 10 3/4" in the rear. Handling has not been a problem. Stanfordman gave you good advice though. Hog pro is great. Speak to Phil. They've got a wealth of info and easy to talk to.

We have done several installations here with a 21" front and stock 16" rear on the baggers and they work well. It is not too different than the 21+18 combinations you see so frequently. We agree with others that the bike will be easier to handle with that monotube lowering kit because the 21" does raise the front end up. We have a 2010 streetglide and we used the lowered monotube front on and we are happy with it. If you need any more information just let us know and we will try to help.
