Default Couple questions for making a "chopper" SG..

Hey all.
Just traded my Night Train in for a new 2010 Street Glide that had been customized by the dealer....all blacked out and pretty much what I'd personally want out of a touring bike.

But still a few things I want to change to make it a bit more "chopper"-ish and more to my taste.
(mind you, I said "taste" not "logic".....I'm well aware that pretty much everything I'm wanting to change will detract a bit from the comfort level of the bike, but I'm ok with that)

1. Pegs instead of boards. Yes, I know footboards are 100% more comfortable, but as a lover of forward controls, they just don't feel "right" to me. Just not my style.
What I'm wondering is this: I've noticed that the holes for the engine guards are the same bolt size as passenger footpeg mounts. Has anyone ever tried putting Softail passenger peg mounts there to use as driver pegs? I tested the idea with my SG's passenger pegs and they seem ok, position wise.
Shifter is just fine, and while the brake pedal ends up being above the toes, it's not much different than the floorboards feel. (I'm used to Softail and Sporty forward controls where you just rock your foot forward, so the half-inch more up to the brake pedal from the boards doesn't feel any different to me)

I'm liking the idea of that over forward control kits like from Jaybrake as it'd be about 1/3 the cost...but not sure if they'd be worth it in terms of usable controls compared to a specifically designed kit of pegs & pedal arms.

2. Windshield. Well, the SG windshield is pretty much useless anyway, and I'm not wanting to get a taller one because even though it'd be better for rider comfort, it'd ruin the low, sleek looks of the SG (compared to the Tour Glides, which just plain "look" tall and bulky in comparison).
Question is: Do they make shorter ones? Like maybe a 2" one? If it's only good for looks anyway, might as well go as minimalist as possible.

3. Rake. I've read up a bit on raking out a FL bike and since I don't want to rake it TOO much and would like to keep with the 19" Aggitator wheels that came on my bike, I'm liking the idea of putting the Trike clamps on for that mild 4-degree rake.
Question is: Would I need to get and/or modify any thing else besides the upper and lower clamp, or is it that direct of a replacement, the rest of the front end would bolt right back on?

Thanks all, and as soon as I get ahold of a camera (gave mine away to someone who needed one & have yet to get a new one of my own), I'll start posting pics of it.

I haven't seen any shields shorter than the 4" but you can easily cut it down to your liking with a jigsaw. Cover the whole shield with tape and draw the shape you want, use a metal cutting fine tooth blade in a jigsaw and then with a block of wood and sandpaper wrapped around it (gradually going finer) sand the edges nice and smooth. I've done this on other shields to make them to my "liking" and it works like a charm. For a perfectly symmetrical look, cut a piece of paper that only has half the pattern on it and flip it over to copy the same to the other side. A little work but definitely makes it "custom". Hope this helps.

Thought about that...just not sure I trust my hand to be stead enough for a smooth cut. But I've a good friend who's a professional model builder, so could probably get his help.
Might get another one to test it on, since am thinking of getting a Patriot Guard banner for escort rides, then could just swap windshields out as needed/desired.
Thanks.

You can drop the seat 3" by doing a Fat Bagger kit.
Their web site doesn't have any decent pictures. Some guys here on the forum have done it. Better pictures.

You will also want extended saddlebags and rear fender set up. Lots of companies.

That http://www.ssinisterchoppers.com/ can turn it into a one of a kind

I too would love to hear comments regarding using the tri glide triple trees, which I have heard are 3 degree trees, I have also heard they will bolt right on.

Ouch...the 3" seat drop is pricey....but that's the problem with good stuff I guess. Gotta pay to play.
Looking for inexpensive mods at the moment, til i build my bank account back up after dropping the money to get the bike.

But man, some great sites to look at for ideas: extended bags look badass, but might be other down-the-road plans.

Also looking for handlebar options. Love the ones like Baggernation's MonkeyBars: black with points at the corners instead of curved bends. Am looking into mini-apes, like maybe 9 or 10 inchers,
