Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm also new to the HD world but when I hear R6 I think Yamaha. If this is correct then at some point you are going to bottom out or even worse take put a nice gash on the bottom of your SG. I had one of these lowering ktis on my R1 and ended up cracking my bottom fairings. I purchased a 2011SG last week and the first mod I installed was a lowered shock from Bitchinbaggers. (http://bitchinbaggers.com/products/drop-shocks/) I went with the 2" drop and cant say I regret doing it. I purchased one of there core shocks just to keep my stock ones as a back up if I decided to possibly go back to stock. Hope this helps.

I've had mine for 2 years...no issues at all....just maintain proper air in your shocks and you shouldn't have any issues....I ride 50/50 solo and 2 up....no problems at All.

I lowered mine with a 1 to 3 inch kit finding that at 2" I would drag my pipes quit often and couldn't ride 2 up unless the shocks were maxed out with air. At 1" it wasn't to bad but I felt like the handling just wasn't there anymore. All in all I went back to stock and gonna just upgrade the air shocks at some point to Progressive,Ohlins or the new HD coilover at the stock length.
