robvg, loosen the mounts that the pins go in. but not so loose that there isn't still friction holding them in place. Install the bags and pins. Gently rock the bags back and forth to get everything lined up and settled in. Carefully remove the pins and bags, and tighten down the mounts. They are now lined up and you should have no more trouble.
(actually I broke down and bought the Brukus kit.)

These are basically Dzus fasteners. A little off topic,but if you can find a copy of "An American in the Making:The Biography of William Dzus,Inventor" by Ronald Bern, you won't be able to put it down................

Yep ... The Dzus Fasteners are pretty much fool proof ... They have been used in the hot rod and airplane world for a long time ... a bit more security can be had by using clip nuts, a few washers and 5/16 bolts .... or the Brukus kits.
